| Gene Summary | Defensins form a family of microbicidal and cytotoxic peptides made by neutrophils. Members of the defensin family are highly similar in protein sequence. This gene encodes defensin, beta 1, an antimicrobial peptide implicated in the resistance of epithelial surfaces to microbial colonization. Western blot analysis of DEFB1 using anti-DEFB1 antibody. The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 ug of sample under reducing conditions. Lane 1: human COLO320 whole cell lysates. After electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a membrane. Then the membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-DEFB1 antigen affinity purified polyclonal antibody at a dilution of 1:1000 and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody. The signal is developed using ECL Plus Western Blotting Substrate. A specific band was detected for DEFB1 at approximately 7 kDa. The expected band size for DEFB1 is at 7 kDa.
IHC
IHC analysis of DEFB1 using anti-DEFB1 antibody. DEFB1 was detected in a paraffin-embedded section of human lung cancer tissue.
