| Function | Lysine butyrylation structure is similar to lysine acetylation and acetylation, and is a recently discovered reversible modification that can regulate protein activity. Integrating proteomics and biochemical analysis techniques, a large number of literature reports have found that many proteins in prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms, whether histone or non histone, undergo lysine acetylation modification. Many histone and non histone substrates such as p53 and p300/CBP undergo butyrylation modifications, suggesting that lysine butyrylation plays an important role in epigenetic regulation, such as chromatin dynamics and plasticity, DAN transcriptional regulation, and tumorigenesis. |
