| Gene Summary | Heme oxygenase, an essential enzyme in heme catabolism, cleaves heme to form biliverdin, which is subsequently converted to bilirubin by biliverdin reductase, and carbon monoxide, a putative neurotransmitter. Heme oxygenase activity is induced by its substrate heme and by various nonheme substances. Heme oxygenase occurs as 2 isozymes, an inducible heme oxygenase-1 and a constitutive heme oxygenase-2. Immunofluorescence analysis of paraffin-embedded human spleen tissue labeling Heme Oxygenase 1 (HO-1). The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 9.0) for 20 minutes. The tissues were blocked in 10% negative goat serum for 1 hour at room temperature, washed with PBS. And then probed with the primary antibody Heme Oxygenase 1 (HO-1) (iFluor™ 594) at 1/50 dilution overnight at 4 ℃, washed with PBS. 33258 was used as nuclear counterstain.| Application Notes | IF-P:1:50 |
