Gene Full Name
heat shock protein 70 (Hsp 70) family protein
Gene Summary
Encodes the luminal binding protein BiP, an ER-localized member of the HSP70 family. BiP is composed of an N-terminal ATP binding domain and a C-terminal domain that binds to hydrophobic patches on improperly/incompletely folded proteins in an ATP-dependent manner. Involved in polar nuclei fusion during proliferation of endosperm nuclei.
Molecular Weight(MW)
74 kDa for Arabidopsis thaliana
Application
WB
Sample loading: Approximately 2 μg of total proteins from Arabidopsis thaliana and rice leaves. Electrophoresis: 12.5% SDS - PAGE. Membrane transfer: Nitrocellulose (NC) membrane, transfer at 10 V overnight. Blocking: Block with 5% non - fat dry milk at room temperature for 1 hour. Primary antibody: Dilute the primary antibody at a ratio of 1:5000 and incubate at room temperature for 1 hour.
