| Gene Summary | The green fluorescent protein (GFP) was originally identified as a protein involved in the bioluminescence of the jellyfish Aequorea victoria. GFP cDNA produces a fluorescent product when expressed in prokaryotic cells, without the need for exogenous substrates or cofactors, making GFP a useful tool for monitoring gene expression and protein localization in vivo. Several GFP mutants have been developed, including EGFP, which fluoresce more intensely than the wildtype GFP and have shifted excitation maxima, making them useful for FACS and fluorescence microscopy as well as double-labeling applications. GFP is widely used in expression vectors as a fusion protein tag, allowing expression and monitoring of heterologous proteins fused to GFP. |

WB
Western blot analysis of GFP on recombinant GFP protein using anti-GFP antibody at 1/5,000 dilution.
WB
(C) The expression of affbody-GFP was verified by Western Blot analysis at the level of translation. AE-Mφ was compared with RAW264.7 macrophage (Mφ) in which β-actin was used for standardization for each sample.
WB
(G) HER2 protein was incubated with AE-Mφ or Mφ to obtain the input sample. The eluent products as CO-IP samples of AE-Mφ immunoprecipitated along with anti-GFP indicates a direct interaction between AE-Mφ and anti-GFP antibody with the commercial resin column, No protein were found on the output samples.| Application Notes | WB:1:10000 IP:2-5 µg/ml ICC:1:50-1:200 |
