This antibody reacts with nitrotyrosine, both with the free amino acid as well as with proteins containing nitrotyrosine. The antibody does not recognize other antigens with a nitrotyrosine-like structure such as tyrosine, 3-chlorotyrosine, phosphotyrosine and phenylalanine.
